East Trenton Collaborative
UrbanPromiseTrenton’s
Role in the East Trenton Collaborative
UrbanPromise Trenton (UPT) acts as a central partner and the fiscal sponsor of the East Trenton Collaborative (ETC), providing the administrative infrastructure, financial stewardship, and staffing necessary to sustain the initiative’s long‑term impact. This backbone support enables partner organizations to focus on direct service delivery while maintaining high standards of transparency and accountability.
Beyond its administrative role, UPT is deeply embedded in the East Trenton neighborhood and contributes essential programmatic capacity to the Collaborative. Through its daily presence at the East Trenton Center, UPT oversees youth and educational programming, community organizing, and center operations, while Isles, Inc. acts as the lead organization for the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) program, which funds much of the collaborative’s efforts. New Jersey Community Capital owns the East Trenton Center building and previously managed the NRTC program.
By working closely with these partners and other community-based organizations, UPT ensures that youth and family perspectives are incorporated into broader strategies related to housing stability, economic mobility, community safety, and resident leadership. Because UPT staff maintain strong, long-standing relationships with local families, the organization helps elevate resident voices, facilitate feedback loops, and ensure that ETC’s work remains rooted in the lived experiences of East Trenton residents.
Through this combination of fiscal oversight, program delivery, and community-centered leadership, UrbanPromise Trenton strengthens the East Trenton Collaborative’s capacity to advance equitable, resident-driven neighborhood change. You can learn more HERE
